This workshop aimed to bring together academic scientists, policymakers, knowledgeable local experts from governmental and non-governmental agencies, and several other multi-sectoral stakeholders.
National Workshop on Planning for the Global Environmental and Occupational Health (GEOHealth) Hub for Interdisciplinary Research and Training

Meeting Aims:
- presented the goals and objectives of the GEOHealth hub planning grant
- presented the main findings of the situational analysis and needs assessment (SANA) recently conducted for Ethiopia
- discussed and critiqued the draft SANA report, and based on this report,
- assessed the existing country situational profile of air pollution, occupational safety and health, climate change and health,
- assessed the policy-regulatory framework for managing the environment,
- identified gaps and needs based on the situational analysis, and
- determined possible interventions for the identified needs
- charted the remaining steps in completing the planning process for establishing the GEOHealth hub for East Africa
