Dr. Afullo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Health at University of Kabianga in Kericho, Kenya. He is a Fulbright and Comonwealth alumnus and an also an associate member of the African Waste and Environment Management Centre (AWEMAC), a member of comprehensive occupational health management consultants (COHEMAS), Nairobi; the National Environment and Management (NEMA-Kenya) registered and licensed lead expert in environmental assessment, a registered trainer in the chartered institute of environmental health (CIEH-UK), a former member of the chartered institute of water and environmental management (UK), the African studies association (ASA), and Somarelang Tikologo (Botswana). Augustine Afullo is an environmental and occupational health consultant, manager and trainer. Augustine is also a member of the Regional Greater Nairobi and the South Rift Centres of Expertise (RCE), with over 20 years of teaching, capacity building, training, lecturing and research experience in environmental and occupational health management, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Eastern, Southern Africa and the United States of America. He has had a working stint in the Maasai Mara University, North central College (USA), Kenya Methodist University (Kenya), Kenyatta University(Kenya), Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK), Kisumu polytechnic (Kenya), Maun Senior (Botswana), among others. He has done at least fifteen environmental impact assessments / audits, at least twenty monitoring and evaluation (M&E) topic tasks as the lead consultant in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Education for Sustainable Development in Africa (ESDA); climate change, disaster, public health, environmental health, health, food security, water supply, sanitation, hygiene. He has supervised at least forty Post-Graduate (advanced diploma, Masters and Doctoral students. Afullo has published widely in refereed environment, occupational health, sanitation, hygiene, water, food and nutritional security and public health journals. Augustine is currently a reviewer of a number of academic journals as well as a member of the advisory board of the world research journal of environment and waste management.
