Augustine Otieno Afullo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Health at the University of Kabianga in Kericho, Kenya. He is the Academic Leader of the Environmental Health programs, as well as the Kenyan Principal Investigator and National Project Director, GEOHealth. Afullo is an alumnus of Fulbright and Commonwealth. In addition, he is a member of the African Waste and Environment Management Centre (AWEMAC), a National Environment and Management (NEMA-Kenya) registered lead expert in environmental assessment, and a registered trainer in the chartered institute of environmental health (CIEH-UK) in occupational health and safety, Principles of Manual handling, Principles of Control of Substances hazardous to health (COSHH) as well as professional trainer certificate. Locally, Augustine is a National Industrial Training Authority (NITA- Kenya) registered trainer in Occupational health and safety. He has 25 years of teaching, capacity building, training, and research experience in environmental and occupational health management in Eastern, Southern Africa and the US. Augustine successfully chaired the Board of Management (BOM) of Nyamonye Girls High School, Siaya County, Kenya, for 9 years, and has long experience in environmental impact assessments and audit, and monitoring & evaluation. He has supervised at least 30 graduate students to graduation. Afullo has published widely in refereed environmental quality, environment, occupational health, sanitation, hygiene, water, food & nutritional security and public health journals, as well as an author of at least 15 books with Amazon. He is a reviewer of a number of academic journals as well as a member of the advisory board of the world research journal of environment and waste management.
